FAQs

Where do you source your fabric?
All materials are thrifted from secondhand shops or estate/yard sales, or they have been gifted to me. I am a choosy lady when selecting textiles! Cotton is preferred, often found in bedsheets and tea towels. Thicker cotton and linen fabrics can come from tablecloths, towels, and table runners. Some wear and tear, discolorations, or other small imperfections may be expected and add a little to the history of the piece.

How do you treat your thrifted materials?
Every item is inspected for stains, odors, and flaws. I spot clean, machine wash and dry, and iron each piece of fabric. I take my time selecting which fabrics and textiles will go into every bag, making sure each one is as unique as you are!

How do I care for my Casey Rae Made bag?
Most bags are machine washable and dryable on gentle and cool cycles, but I recommend spot cleaning or hand washing and air drying. Touch up with a warm iron where needed. All fabrics have been pre-washed, dried, and ironed, but some straps and snaps/buckles may not be machine friendly.

Can I send you my own fabrics for a custom bag?

What's up with the funky stamps?
I use both my own designs hand carved into linocut stamps and vintage Nepalese wood carved stamps to label and adorn my creations. Water based fabric ink is used and heat set to make them washable and long lasting. Handmaking these adornments is not a perfect process, imperfections in the imprint is part of the charm!

The colors don't match the website exactly, what's up with that?
Colors may vary from the website presentation due to, but not limited to: the settings on your monitor, or the color visibility of the visitor to the website. I include photos taken in natural light to represent the item as true as possible, but colors on the website may still differ slightly from the actual colors of the product.
